Butterflies Are Free

July 15, 2005 - July 30, 2005

When you are a young bachelor living in your own apartment for the first time, even if it's a cramped, cold-water flat, you know what exhilaration is. If a pretty young actress moves into the next apartment, you've got an even bigger beginning. Don has it even better yet: the actress has proposed friendship and the removal of the connecting door. The actress learns that Don is escaping an overprotective mother, and trying to learn if he has the talent to become a songwriter. When the mother and the girl meet, the sparks fly causing hilarity to ensue. By the end of the play, all of the characters must examine who they are in a tender finale. It was set in the frolicking 60's and was a very funny, yet deeply sentimental play.
